I'm Joran Quinten. Technical lead, full stack engineer, author, and conference speaker. I've spent 15 years building for the web at organisations including Jumbo Supermarkten, ProRail, the Dutch Ministry of Defence, and Greenhouse Group.
Today I work as a fractional CTO and tech lead through QTN Consulting: embedded with a small number of clients at a time, focused on the work that moves the needle. I wrote a book on Vue.js 3 for Packt, contributed to Smashing Magazine, and serve on the JSNation program committee.
I'm at my best when the problem is complex, the stakes are real, and the team needs someone who can think strategically and ship.

Fractional CTO / Tech Lead
Your embedded senior technical partner. I make architecture decisions, set engineering standards, coach your developers, and contribute to roadmap and feasibility conversations for a fixed period, with a clear mandate. Two alignment sessions per week, flexible async availability across the rest.
Architecture & Code Review
A clear-eyed assessment of where your codebase, frontend architecture, or engineering workflows stand — and an actionable plan for what to do about it. Also covers review of technical specifications, vendor proposals, and scoping documents.
AI Adoption for Engineering Teams
Hands-on experience integrating AI into production environments: document retrieval systems, chat interfaces, developer tooling. I help you identify where AI adds genuine value, evaluate tooling, and implement in a way that's maintainable beyond the demo.
Technical Due Diligence
Making a significant technical investment? I provide an independent senior assessment of codebases, engineering teams, and technical proposals. I give you a clear picture of risks, gaps, and what good looks like before you commit.
Workshops & Talks
Available to speak, MC or moderate at conferences, meetups, and company events in Dutch or English. Topics span frontend architecture, Vue.js and Nuxt, design systems, AI in web development, and cross-discipline collaboration. Tailored team workshops also available.

A maximum of two clients at a time. A commitment to the quality of attention every engagement deserves.
Fixed touchpoints, flexible hours
Two structured alignment sessions per week. Outside of those, I work when focus is sharpest: mornings, evenings, or whenever the problem calls for it.
Remote-first, globally available
Based on Bonaire in the Caribbean Netherlands. Built for distributed teams: async by default, synchronous by appointment.
Strategic and hands-on
I don't just advise. I ship. Architecture decisions, code reviews, roadmap input: whatever the engagement calls for.
Outcome-oriented
Every engagement has a mandate and a definition of done. I work to make myself unnecessary, leaving teams and systems stronger than I found them.
English & Dutch
Fluent in both. Available for teams, stakeholders, and documentation in either language. No translation layer needed.
